Syllabus

In this course, we will be reading various research papers related to latest topics being discussed in IETF working groups.  

In particular, we study advance topics in Voice over IP such as 9-1-1, media gateway control, VoWiFi, mobility,

ubiquity,  media server protocols, SPEERMINT, P2PSIP, ENUM, BEHAVE,  SAVI, services and applications.  These topics

have immediate applicability to practical world. We discuss how these feature can supplement the existing services. 

Also, we discuss  on how to convert some of the research results to real-world  products/use.  We will be reading several  

research papers and IETF drafts and share the problems/solutions  from these papers. 

Prerequisites: CSCI 5580 Computer Networks or Instructor's permission
